Board rules

These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on The VMCC Forum. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.

  1. Terms of Agreement

    1. The Forum is owned and operated by The Vintage Motor Cycle Club
      By accessing “The VMCC Forum” (hereinafter “we”, “us”, “our”, “The VMCC Forum”, “http://forum.vmcc.net”), you agree to be legally bound by the following terms. If you do not agree to be legally bound by all of the following terms then please do not access and/or use “The VMCC Forum”. We may change these at any time and we’ll do our utmost in informing you, though it would be prudent to review this regularly yourself as your continued usage of “The VMCC Forum” after changes mean you agree to be legally bound by these terms as they are updated and/or amended.

      You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, libelous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “The VMCC Forum” is hosted or International Law. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with notification of your Internet Service Provider if deemed required by us. The IP address of all posts are recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that “The VMCC” has the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should we see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered to being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, neither “The VMCC Forum” nor phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

      We also expect forum members to behave responsibly and with consideration for other forum users. Misuse of emojies, bullying, personal attacks, or general anti-social behaviour is unacceptable. Any behaviour which the Moderators and/or Administrators consider inappropriate will result in a temporary ban. Continued bad behaviour will result in a permanent ban.

      Complaints made on the Forum are to be handled by Moderators on all occasions. If the complaint is about a Moderator or Administrator directly, then please follow the processes on https://vmcc.net/consultation

      Our forums are powered by phpBB (hereinafter “they”, “them”, “their”, “phpBB software”, “www.phpbb.com”, “phpBB Limited”, “phpBB Teams”) which is a bulletin board solution released under the “GNU General Public License v2” (hereinafter “GPL”) and can be downloaded from www.phpbb.com. The phpBB software only facilitates internet based discussions; phpBB Limited is not responsible for what we allow and/or disallow as permissible content and/or conduct.       At the wishes of the vast majority (over 80%) of VMCC members, we don't want to discuss VMCC internal affairs here.
      This can be done by following the constitutional processes in the Members Handbook

      2. No words of hate or bullying
      Be nice to people, don't be argumentative

      3. No traders
      At the request of members, this group is intended to be free from unsolicited commercial activities. #

    1. You agree to have a USERNAME that reflects your real-life name - so YOUR USERNAME SHOULD BE IN THE FORMAT "FIRST-NAME LAST-NAME as found on your VMCC Membership Card. #
